Philippine flood crisis deepens, death toll at 240

Hundreds of thousands of exhausted Philippine flood survivors crowded into schools, gymnasiums and other makeshift shelters on Tuesday, as the death toll from the weekend disaster soared to 240.

Three days after a once-in-a-generation storm pounded Manila and surrounding regions, officials said they were unable to cope with the enormous number of flood victims who were continuing to pour into the evacuation centres.

"More people are coming in by the hour.... We don't know how long we will be able to sustain this," said Joe Ferrer, a local government official in charge of a shelter on a basketball court on the outskirts of Metro Manila. Related article: Disease threat

"We need clothing, food supplies, food rations and medicine."

Already 3,000 people from the depressed San Andres neighbourhood were at the basketball court, and flood survivors told AFP they were tired and hungry.

The government announced early Tuesday that nearly 375,000 survivors of the devastating rains unleashed by tropical storm Ketsana on Saturday were sheltering in the more than 600 centres.

The number of homeless was a more than three-fold rise from Monday.

The death toll also jumped significantly after authorities finally started to record those killed in Manila, and not just the neighbouring regions.

The latest death toll of 240 was 100 more than Monday's assessment.

The government said 101 people had been confirmed killed in the capital, up from seven on Monday. Related article: Flood hero who perished

Defence Secretary Gilberto Teodoro said he did not expect another similar spike in the death toll, although authorities had yet to fully assess the storm's economic impact.

"I think for casualties, the increases will be not that great, but the damage figure may increase," said Teodoro, who is leading the relief effort.

After admitting it could not cope on its own, the government on Monday appealed to the international community for help.

"The potential for a more serious situation is there and we cannot wait for that to happen," Teodoro said.

The government said Tuesday that tonnes of food aid as well as foreign experts were on their way to the Philippines.

The United States, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore and UN agencies were among the nations or organisations to have given aid.

President Gloria Arroyo described the floods as a "once-in-a-lifetime" event and in an extraordinary move opened the Malacanang presidential palace to flood survivors. Related article: Arroyo opens palace residence

"Evacuees will be given shelter in available areas among the Malacanang buildings and in tents that will be put up in between the buildings," Arroyo said in a statement late on Monday.

"If required, our employees will yield their work stations to provide more space for our displaced countrymen."

After word of the offer spread, hundreds of people converged on the palace on Tuesday morning and received plastic bags filled with noodles and canned sardines.

"We just heard it in the news that they are giving relief goods at the palace so we walked for one hour," said street sweeper Rosette Serrano, 31, who lost everything except her clothes when her house was submerged on Saturday.

However, officials said people would not be allowed to stay inside the presidential compound and shelter there unless they were first vetted by aid organisations.

"We cannot just allow every evacuee in because of logistical and security problems," Arroyo aide Wilfredo Oca told AFP.

About two years ago, an anonymous source created these accounts using my identity, posting my personal details, my real pictures captioned roughly and attacking other people. Because of these incidents, I reported such abuses and sent my credentials to the administrators of such sites, particularly Facebook. I have been abused and am still being abused online in social networking websites such as Facebook, Friendster, Multiply etc.

In the early stages, I was advised by close friends to ignore the situation, saying this would simply go away. Unfortunately, it has not stopped. Hence, I filed a complaint with the Dubai Police about eight months ago hoping they could help me with my problem. Should anyone wish to check my statement, my case is still under investigation with said authorities.

Time passed and these sites continued to generate malicious, obscene and cruel messages that are widely exposed and relayed to the public under my name.

Yesterday, September 27th 2009, I received phone calls from my close friends regarding very alarming posts in the above mentioned websites that directly offended flood victims as a result of typhoon Ondoy..

These malicious statement(s) which are posted under account names Jacque or Jackie are not of my doing. It is unfortunate that such statements were maliciously attributed to me and I do sympathize and understand the adverse and somehow verbally violent reaction that has been elicited by such insensitive statements or posts. Rest assured, I have taken every legal step that can be done in this regard.

I too, have become a victim as much as those who may have lost their lives and properties to such a devastating natural calamity. This recent controversy has greatly affected my reputation, my family, and my friends. I am devastated and shocked at the extent my character, my personal information and private space have been violated.

I have a deep respect and regard for my country. I am proud to be a Filipino and would never say or do anything to harm the interest of my country or countrymen. I have also had the privilege of participating in civic-oriented activities in Dubai, particularly in trying to help my fellow countrymen seek employment during the height of mass layoffs brought about by the ongoing global financial crisis, as well as those seeking employment for the first time. Filipina OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) Jacque Bermejo is getting bullied and is getting cyber-ass kicked. She posted a hateful comment on a Facebook group and it ignited an online revolution against her. Her Multiply account is getting floded with hateful comments and its surreal to watch it spawn new remarks every second.

Each person is entitled to his or her own opinion, but we should choose if, when and where we are going to voice it out. Good luck, Jacque Bermejo.

The comment was insensitive, self-serving anti-nationalistic as it is. And worse, its made during a time when the country is grieving and struggling.

I cannot fathom what was going through her mind when she made the comment. And she posted it on a group. Overconfident? Proud? Sick.

Kanye West might still be under fire for his controversial act on MTV, but the ranting rapper could be looking at plenty of praise from BET next month.

West has received nine nominations for the fourth annual BET Hip-Hop Awards, which will be televised Oct. 27. The rapper caused a stir Sunday after he interrupted 19-year-old country singer Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The 32-year-old West's latest album, "808 & Heartbreak," has sold over a million copies.

Jay-Z and Lil Wayne drew the second-most nominations with seven apiece, while T.I. received six nods.

The network will also recognize veteran rapper Ice Cube with the "I Am Hip-Hop" icon award. The show will be hosted by comedian Mike Epps.

4 fishermen rescued after drifting at sea for 1 month

More than a month of hell finally ended for four Palawan fishermen, who were rescued off Hinoba-an town in Negros Occidental province.

A report on Visayan Daily Star said the four had been drifting at sea since Aug. 10, and were rescued after a fisherman saw them.

Hinoba-an town administrator designate Jose Candulizas identified the four as Tualot Libating, 43, owner operator of the boat; Ameril Culele, 21; Tonton Palayu, 14; and Jee Can, 14.

All the four were haggard and thin when they were rescued, Candulizas added.

He said the four were passengers of MV Sea Baby Wing and were from Indalawan village in Balabac town in Palawan.

Candulizas said Rogelio Jimenez, a fisherman of Culipapa village in Hinoba-an, was in Cagayancillo waters between Hinoba-an and Palawan when he saw the four fishermen drifting on their pumpboat, and towed them back to Hinoba-an.

National Disaster Coordinating Council spokesman Anthony Golez Jr. said he will assist the four fishermen in getting back to Palawan.

The Hinoba-an town government has provided them with food, medical assistance and clothing, Candulizas said.

Investigation showed the four left Balabac Aug. 10. After four hours at sea they developed engine trouble.

The fishermen said the “amihan" winds pushed their vessel towards Vietnam and the south “habagat" winds pushed them back into Philippine waters.

According to them, they ate whatever they could catch and drank rainwater.

Pacquiao denies steroids in-take

Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has belied claims that he is using illegal supplements, including the banned substance steroids, to gain an unfair advantage in fights.

The accusation was made by flamboyant trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr., who worked the corner of Ricky Hatton for the bout with Pacquiao last May. Mayweather, in an interview with the Grand Rapids Press, said he believes the Filipino is taking illegal supplements.

“I believe he’s (Pacquiao) on some type of supplements. I’m convinced about a lot of (boxers),” the brash trainer said. “That’s what they’re (Pacquiao camp) doing right now. Everybody should be checked a little bit more thoroughly. Sometimes people know what’s going on but they ain’t saying anything.

Mayweather’s claims may have stemmed from the fact that he witnessed first hand how Pacquiao demolished Hatton easily during their fight — where the current pound-for-pound king’s speed was simply too much for the British slugger to handle.

But against his son Floyd Jr., the older Mayweather said Pacquiao will lose if ever they meet in the ring — steroids or none.

“I don’t think he can beat Lil’ Floyd with steroids in him or not,” he said. “He don’t have that kind of talent. He don’t have that kind of skill, whatever he has in him.”

Pacquiao, for his part, insisted he always fights cleanly, even stressing that he doesn’t know anything about steroids.

“I don’t even know how it looks and what color it is,” Pacquiao said in a TV interview shortly after arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport this morning (Sept. 17).

The IBO junior welterweight champion added that he has already instructed his lawyer, Jeng Gacal, to study any possible legal action they can take against Mayweather.

“We’re thinking of suing him (Mayweather) for what he said,” he added.

Pacquiao is back in the Philippines after wrapping up a back-breaking press tour that took him and upcoming opponent Miguel Cotto to five cities — New York, Caguas in Puerto Rico, and San Francisco, Beverly Hills and San Diego in California.

He, along with trainer Freddie Roach, will head to Baguio City tonight to kick-off his eight-week training camp.

Pacquiao and Cotto will slug it out on Nov. 14 (Nov. 15 in Manila) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

World's Newest Tallest Man

A towering Turk was officially crowned the world's tallest man Thursday after his Ukrainian rival dropped out of the running by refusing to be measured.

Guinness World Records said that 8 foot 1 inch (2.47 meter) Sultan Kosen, from the town of Mardin in eastern Turkey, is now officially the tallest man walking the planet. Although the previous record holder, Ukrainian Leonid Stadnyk, reportedly measured 8 feet 5.5 inches (2.57 meters), Guinness said he was stripped of his title when he declined to let anyone confirm his height.

Stadnyk, 39, told The Associated Press he refused to be independently measured because he was tired of being in the public eye.

"If this title had given me more health or a few extra years, I would have taken it, but the opposite happened, I only wasted my nerve cells," he said.

"If I have to choose between prosperity and calm, I choose calm."

Kosen, 27, told reporters in London that he was looking forward to parlaying his newfound status into a chance at love.

"Up until now it's been really difficult to find a girlfriend," Kosen said through an interpreter. "I've never had one, they were usually scared of me. ... Hopefully now that I'm famous I'll be able to meet lots of girls. I'd like to get married."

Kosen is one of only 10 confirmed or reliably reported cases in which humans have grown past the eight foot (2.44 meter) mark, according to Guinness.

The record-keeping group said he grew into his outsize stature because tumor-related damage to his pituitary triggered the overproduction of growth hormones. The condition, known as "pituitary gigantism," also explains Kosen's enormous hands and feet, which measure 10.8 inches (27.5 centimeters) and 14.4 inches (36.5 centimeters) respectively.

The tumor was removed last year, so Kosen isn't expected to grow any further.

The part-time farmer, who uses crutches to stand, said there were disadvantages to being so tall.

"I can't fit into a normal car," he said. "I can't go shopping like normal people, I have to have things made specially and sometimes they aren't always as fashionable. The other thing is that ceilings are low and I have to bend down through doorways."

But he noted some advantages too, including the ability to see people coming from far away.

"The other thing is at home they use my height to change the light bulbs and hang the curtains, things like that."

Kosen's trip to the U.K. — his first outside Turkey — was organized by Guinness to publicize the release of its 2010 Guinness World Records book, this year's repertoire of weird and wonderful records.

Cotto may have problem making weight

Conditioning coach Alex Ariza liked what he saw at the Beverly Hills Hotel here yesterday.

No, it wasn’t the elegance of the “Pink Palace” (as the hotel, built in 1912, is affectionately called), not its scroll of past celebrity guests like Charlie Chaplin, Rudolph Valentino, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne or John F. Kennedy, and neither those gorgeous ladies walking the premises.

What caught Ariza’s sharp eyes was the shape Miguel Cotto was in, in the last day of the press tour that carried the Puerto Rican champion, and Manny Pacquiao, the reigning pound-for-pound king from the Philippines, to New York, Puerto Rico and San Francisco and LA over the last five days.

“Did you see him out there? He must be weighing 160 pounds,” said Ariza who came into the picture with the promise that he can keep Pacquiao moving up in weight and adding up more power without losing his speed. He introduced the Pinoy icon to the special program of plyometrics.

And they’re been extremely successful so far with big knockout wins over Diaz, Oscar dela Hoya and Ricky Hatton.

He said Cotto weighing as much (the WBO champion said a few days ago he was at 159 lb) gives him the feeling that the wide-bodied Puerto Rican might find it quite difficult making the catchweight limit of 145 lb. Pacquiao is just a little over 150, and with two months left is safely there.

“He (Cotto) must be 160 pounds and we’re fighting at 145 with only two months left. He’s got a lot more work to do than us. We also have work to do but Cotto has got to lose a lot of weight,” said Ariza, who’s hoping that at 145 lb, Pacquiao could be as sharp, as fast and as strong as he was in his last fights.

Cotto said he plans to climb the ring at 160.

“He weighed in at 142 for the Oscar dela Hoya fight (which was fought at 147 lb) and climbed the ring at 148 1/2. Now if we can put him in that shape I don’t see anyone who will be able to take his punches. He really looked exceptionally well at 142,” said Ariza, who’s coming over to Baguio City for the training.

Ariza said he’s not concerned at all that some people feel that Pacquiao is lagging behind Cotto in training. While the Puerto Rican is into his fourth week, Pacquiao will mark day one of his training on Sept. 21 at the earliest.

But Ariza said it doesn’t really matter because eight weeks have proven to be the perfect formula, and anything more or less than that won’t bring out the best in him.

“Believe me, once he’s in training nothing can disrupt him. And once he’s ready, he’d climb the gate just to fight,” he said.

At the press conference, Pacquiao said when he climbs the ring against Cotto he will prove the world “who Manny Pacquiao is.”

The 30-year-old icon is gunning for a record seventh world title in different weight classes.

Cotto capped the press tour by saying there’s nothing else to do now but train, and make sure that when the fight comes “you’re in your best shape.”

Cotto is scheduled to fly back to Puerto Rico, and in just a couple of days will be in Tampa, Florida for the big grind. Pacquiao, on the other hand, motors to San Diego today to do the ceremonial pitch in the Padres’ game before heading back to Manila later in the evening.

Number of jobless Filipino rises in July

The number of jobless Filipinos rose in July with Metro Manila recording the biggest number of unemployed, the government said on Tuesday.

Some 2.920-million Filipinos were jobless, 6.3-percent higher than the estimated 2.749-million unemployed Filipinos during the same month last year, the National Statistics Office (NSO) said.

As of July this year, 64.6 percent of Filipinos aged 15 years old and above – or 38.4 million persons – belonged to the Philippines’ total labor force of 59.512 million.

This was higher than the 64.3 percent of Filipinos who fell within the same age range in July last year when the labor force reached 58.119 million.

Most jobless Filipinos were located in highly urbanized areas.

"Across regions, the National Capital Region (NCR) (12.1 percent) and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon province) (11.1 percent) posted the highest unemployment rate and lowest in ARMM (Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao) at 3.4 percent," the NSO said.

The rate of underemployment, or the employed persons who express the desire to have additional hours of work in their present job or to have an additional job, or to have a new job with longer working hours, declined to 19.8 percent from 21 percent.

"Most of the underemployed were working in the agriculture sector (44.1 percent) and services sector (40.3 percent). The underemployed in the industry sector accounted for 15.6 percent," the NSO added.

Of the estimated 35.5 million employed persons in July 2009, the services sector was the largest employer, getting more than half or 51.5 percent.

Those employed in the services sector were in wholesale and retail trade, in the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and in the personal and household goods industry.

The agriculture sector was the second-largest employer, accounting for 33.6 percent. Only 14.8 percent of the total employed were in the industry sector.

Among the various occupation groups, laborers and unskilled workers comprised the largest proportion, 33 percent, of the total employed population.

Farmers, forestry workers and fishermen were the second largest group, accounting for 16.2 percent of the total employed population.

More than half, or 55.3 percent, of the labor force were wage and salary workers, while more than a third or 33.9 percent were own-account workers and 10.8 percent were unpaid family workers.

Among the wage and salary workers, those working for private establishments comprised the largest proportion at 40.8 percent.

Government workers or those working for government corporations comprised only 8.3 percent of the total employed, while six percent were workers in private households.

The self-employed comprised the majority at 29.5 percent of the total employed.

Remembering 9-11 Attacks

The September 11 attacks (often referred to as September 11th or 9/11) were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by Al-Qaeda upon the United States on September 11, 2001. On that morning, 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners.[1][2] The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the buildings. Both buildings collapsed within two hours, destroying nearby buildings and damaging others. The hijackers crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. The fourth plane crashed into a field near Shanksville in rural Pennsylvania, after some of its passengers and flight crew attempted to retake control of the plane, which the hijackers had redirected toward Washington, D.C. There were no survivors from any of the flights.

In total 2,993 people, including the hijackers, died in the attacks.[3][4] The overwhelming majority of casualties were civilians, including nationals of over 90 countries. In addition, the death of at least one person from lung disease was ruled by a medical examiner to be a result of exposure to dust from the World Trade Center's collapse.[5] The United States responded to the attacks by launching a "War on Terrorism", invading Afghanistan to depose the Taliban, who had harbored al-Qaeda terrorists, and enacting the USA PATRIOT Act. Many other countries also strengthened their anti-terrorism legislation and expanded law enforcement powers. Some American stock exchanges stayed closed for the rest of the week following the attack, and posted enormous losses upon reopening, especially in the airline and insurance industries. The destruction of billions of dollars worth of office space caused serious damage to the economy of Lower Manhattan.

The damage to the Pentagon was cleared and repaired within a year, and the Pentagon Memorial was built on the site. The rebuilding process has started on the World Trade Center site. In 2006 a new office tower was completed on the site of 7 World Trade Center. The 1 World Trade Center is currently under construction at the site and at 1,776 ft (541 m) upon completion in 2011, will become one of the tallest buildings in North America. Three more towers were originally expected to be built between 2007 and 2012 on the site.

The Philippine Historical Institute was impressed with her rendition. According to them, that is the proper way of singing the Philippine National Anthem. The duration of the song should only be 55 seconds.

However, many noticed that Jolina Magdangal used her left hand (instead of right). According to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Magdangal slipped on the bathroom of the hotel in Honolulu where she was staying.

Noynoy Aquino is running for President

Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III officially announced this morning, September 9, his decision to run for the presidency in the 2010 elections.

The presidential scion delivered his announcement at the historic Kalayaan Hall in Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan City, on the 40^th day of the death of his mother, former president Corazon Aquino. Filipino tradition sets the 40^th day as the end the mourning period for relatives.

Noynoy made the announcement in answer to overwhelming public demand for him to join the 2010 presidential race. If elected, Aquino will become the country's 15th President.

"Tinatanggap ko ang hiling ng sambayanan. Tinatanggap ko ang habilin at tagubilin ng aking mga magulang... Bayang Pilipinas, tatakbo ako sa pangpanguluhan sa 2010," Aquino stated.

Noynoy, who will be the Liberal Party's standard bearer, also asked the president of the political party, Sen. Mar Roxas, to be his running mate. Roxas still has say whether he would accept the offer or not.

Present at the announcement were Liberal Party members Senators Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, Francis Pangilinan, former Sen. Franklin Drilon, Quezon Rep. Lorenzo “Erin” Tañada III, former congressmen Florencio “Butch” Abad, and Nereus Acosta, singer-composer Jim Paredes, former Defense Secretary Avelino Cruz, and Leah Navarro of the Black and White Movement.

Noynoy’s four sisters, Ballsy, Pinky, Viel and Kris, were also present.

Roxas backed out of the presidential race last Sept. 1, saying he opted to make way for Noynoy Aquino. Roxas said the death of the former president Cory Aquino triggered an outpouring of support for the young senator.

After Roxas's call, Noynoy went onto spiritual retreat in Zamboanga City to pray for "discernment and divine guidance."

Filipinos continued to call for the younger Aquino's positive decision even while he was in retreat. Signature drives around the country went full blast.

Several other presidential hopefuls, like Pampanga Gov. Eddie Panlilio and Isabela Gov. Grace Padaca, cancelled their 2010 presidential bid to support Noynoy.

Dubai Metro launches Today - 09/09/09

The Dubai Metro is Dubai's version of the London Underground, New York Subway, Vienna U-Bahn, Munich S-Bahn, or various other mass-transit systems. It is the longest driverless metro line in the world. The metro operates both above ground and below ground with RTA feeder buses ferrying passengers to metro stations to provide a cheap and efficient public transport system for Dubai residents and visitors. Launch date of the Dubai Metro Red Line (51.2 km) is today, September 9, 2009, and for the Dubai Metro Green Line (17 km) is June 2010. The final length is estimated to be 318 km by 2020.

The Dubai Metro is the first public transportation system of this type in the UAE and the Middle East. The Jumeirah Palm Island monorail was the first to start operating in May 2009 (and Emirates Airlines reportedly has a monorail shifting food around in their catering facility). One major feature of the Dubai Metro is that the trains will be driverless (possibly resulting in lots of tourist photos of visitors at the front of the train going. hahaha!).

The Mexican fighter detailed that he lifts rocks in the mountains, visits a hyperbaric chamber, eats raw quail eggs, and drinks his urine.

“I think that this has helped me. I’ve done it for the last five or six fights with good results,” said Marquez as quoted by FightHype.com’s Ben Thompson.

“I also drink my urine because that’s where a lot of proteins and vitamins are, part of your vitamin intake, and why not drink them again instead of wasting them,” added the current Ring Magazine, WBO and WBA lightweight champion.

Marquez, who is set to fight Floyd Mayweather, Jr., on Sept. 19, mentioned that he lifts rocks in mountains at an elevation of 14,000 feet. He also eats 25 raw quail eggs as he is moving up in weight.

Moreover, Marquez revealed that he visits a hyperbaric chamber “several times a week.”

“For me, the use of a hyperbaric chamber at the end of the day of training is fundamental. I come here and it helps me recuperate,” he noted.

“We look at it as an extra point in the preparation for the fight and this has helped us a lot,” shared the Mexican, who has a record of 50-4-1, with 37 knockouts.

Recently released Department of Labor data show that fishermen (and fisherwomen) and other workers in fishing-related professions were the most likely to die on the job in 2008. Of 39,000 fishing workers in the nation, 50 were killed, a rate of 128.9 per 100,000 full-time workers. Rough seas, unpredictable deadly weather and isolation during emergencies all make the job more unsafe than any other. It's no wonder that the industry's perils have given rise to a popular documentary TV series, "Deadliest Catch," and a best-selling book and hit Hollywood film, "The Perfect Storm."

"Microsoft has a harsh punishment for Xbox players who download illegal copies of the new Halo."

A few fortunate gamers were able to pick up copies of the next Halo game, Halo 3: ODST, when a French retail store inadvertently put the game - which isn't due to release until September 22 - up for sale last week. Copies turned up for download on file-sharing networks shortly thereafter, but there's a nasty surprise in store for any Xbox 360 owners who tries to play them.

According to the Twitter feed of Xbox Live's Policy and Enforcement Director, anyone spotted playing downloaded copies of the game on Xbox Live faces a permanent ban from the service.

"Hrm. I spy with my little eye some *illegitimate* ODST players. No early play for you. Commencing permabans," he said yesterday. He later clarified that those who bought legitimate copies early will not be punished.

"If a user happens to purchase a legit copy of Halo 3: ODST early, then our problem is not with the user but the retailer who broke the street date. Those individuals will not be punished," he told Kotaku.

Microsoft is also known to ban users from Xbox Live for modifying their consoles, cheating, offensive behavior, or fraud.

So if you're jonesing for a look at ODST, but you're not one of the few fortunate individuals to have secured a legitimate copy early, we highly recommend you make do with this awesome, just-released trailer instead.

At this point, I will share to you a tutorial on how to change template in blogger. First thing to be considered in changing the template is you have to make a back up your old template and your widgets. That is very important! After which, you can then start changing your template. Just follow these steps:

Step 1: Login to your Blogger account.

Step 2: Click Layout.

Step 3: Click Edit HTML Tab.

Step 4: Click Browse button. Locate your new template (.xml File) and then click Upload button. (If you have not downloaded new Blogger Templates yet, go to this website. You can download templates on that site for free.)

Step 5: Click at Confirm and Save button.

Your blog now has a new look, however, your template is still empty. Next step is inserting your widgets manually through page element menu.
